Yeading Junior School
Learning, Working and Achieving Together
A child from Yeading Junior School had the wonderful opportunity to illustrate her commitment to volunteering and participation in the WE Schools programme at an event held at Thomas Goode & Co in London.
Hannan, in Year 6, who is an ‘Agent of Change’, gave such an outstanding talk about her journey through the programme and how the experience has made an enormous impact on her self-confidence, as well as positive impact on the school and local community. During the event Hannan was met by Marc Kielburger, founder of Free The Children as well as patrons of the charity Holly Branson and Lord Rumi Verjee.
The co-founders of Free The Children were so amazed at Hannan’s speech that she was asked to speak at an exclusive dinner held at the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, London. She received great applause after her speech and Marc Kielburger spoke of her passion, commitment and above all confidence. Hannan met Princess Beatrice at this special event and had her photograph taken; this featured in a national newspaper. Well done, Hannan!
