We are excited to announce the launch of our School App which will improve communication within our whole school community. This smartphone app will be free to download and works with IPhone and Android phones.
As a school we believe it is essential to work in partnership with parents and carers. Part of this is achieved by ensuring that you receive clear, relevant and regular communication.
Weekly updates are back! You should have received the weekly update for your child's class. The weekly update in an overview of what your child is learning in class this week. You can also find these on the school website by clicking the 'Children' tab and then 'class pages'.
From Monday 16th January 2023 the school gates will be open from 08:35 to 08:45 in the morning. Any child arriving after 08:45 will have to enter via the reception entrance and will be marked late. This is to ensure children are ready to learn in class in good time, promoting a positive mind-set for learning.
Yeading Junior School has been awarded the Quality Mark
This national accreditation is awarded to schools which meet the Quality Mark Standard and will last for two years, after which a renewal assessment is required.
The Quality Mark promotes, supports and celebrates progress and improvements made by a school in English and mathematics. Without these ‘basic skills’ of good communication, English and mathematical skills, individuals are disadvantaged throughout their lives – as learners, in the workplace and as parents, consumers and citizens and so they form the ‘bedrock’ of a good education.
To achieve a Quality Mark, schools have to undergo an assessment, carried out by an external accredited assessor, against the 10 ‘Elements’ of the Quality Mark framework. These cover key aspects of the school’s improvement agenda, including the identification and analysis of the school’s needs; strategic planning; target setting for improvement; intervention and support for pupils under-achieving or under-attaining; provision of quality in both teaching and in resources; staff development; and active engagement with families. Effective monitoring and evaluation are also required - particularly to achieve renewal when continuing development by the school and evidence of impact of actions must be demonstrated.
On Thursday 8th December we will be taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. This year Save the Children will accept a minimum of £2.00 donation to help transform the future of children in the UK and around the world. The children can wear a Christmas Jumper instead of their school jumper/cardigan.
