On 23rd July 2014, a ceremony at Yeading Junior School took place to unveil a new Wildlife Garden located on the grounds of the school.
Members of the local community joined staff and children at Yeading Junior School to celebrate the event. Children showcased a 'musical extravaganza' as they performed melodies on the Steel Pans taught at the school by music specialist Jason Constantine.
In conjunction with Heathrow Communities for Tomorrow, Groundwork Thames Valley, Yeading Junior School and the local community are proud to announce the completion and opening of their Wildlife garden. The project was initiated in 2013 on a piece of land owned by the school. The aims were to enhance links between the school and the local community and also to promote an area for pupils and residents to explore the natural environment and observe wildlife.
On Wednesday 9th July 2014, Yeading Junior School were presented the Money Management Award by a representative from The Community Education Awards.
This is an accolade for children and staff at Yeading Junior School as we receive national recognition for all of the work carried out in school on Personal Finance.
At the Ceremony children performed a short play around The Bank of Yeading and also showcased the School Choir plus a cultural dance performance.
Present at the ceremony were representatives from PFEG, The Metro Bank, Corporate Communications from the London Borough of Hillingdon and Mark Luton, Chief Inspector of Hillingdon.
