Yeading Junior School
Learning, Working and Achieving Together
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The Board of Directors of the Bank of Yeading have had a busy time recently.
Our Personal Financial Education work continues to grow and we were delighted earlier in the year to feature in the Sunday Telegraph.
In relation to financial skills and competence, children at Yeading Junior School have their own savings account. This helps children to deal with day-to-day money management issues and to begin thinking about planning for the future, e.g benefits of interest earned. The good attendance and behaviour amongst the children has generated a significant number of Yeadoes within school.
Year 3 children have enjoyed reading a collection of ‘magical stories’ as part of their Literacy theme.
The ‘Snow Maze’ is a story about a magical maze which is discovered by a young boy called Joe. The children in Year 3 have been asked to imagine a magic portal at the centre of the maze which transports Joe into another setting.
Each Year 3 class has developed a magical character to be included in the creative story writing. Children have thought carefully about the character’s personal and physical attributes.
The technical design and making of the magical character has also been linked in with the current art topic ‘Sculptures’.
