    RADIO YEADING

Have you listened to Radio Yeading yet?  The first broadcast was made in assembly last week.  Our Radio Yeading team consist of 11 pupils from across year 6.  They began by meeting with Miss Khan and an ICT advisor where they learnt how to use the software and add music.

Once they had decided which roles they were going to adopt (producers, journalists and presenters) they set about devising the first show, which needed to engage people so that they would want to listen again.

One of the important parts of the first broadcst was an interview with Mrs Jones, Headteacher about why she felt the radio show was a good opportunity for pupils.  She said: " Radio Yeading is an exciting and very special project... I think it is important we do something to inspire other children..."

You can listen to the first show again on the Radio Yeading fronter page

ATHLETICS COMPETITION AT BOTWELL GREEN LEISURE CENTRE

Earlier this term ten Year 6 pupils took part in an athletics competition, with four other schools, at Botwell Green Leisure Centre.  The children had been training hard, with Mr Khan, in the lead up to the event.  They competed in several different events including: javelin, standing long jump, triple jump, and relays.

All the pupils supported and encouraged each other really well and, as always they were great ambassadors for our school.

Thank you to Miss Coulthard and Mr Khan for organising our participation in the event and preparing the children to take part.
